On the night of Novemeber 4, 2008 I was driving home from a basketball game with my good friend Jermaine. As we were discussing what had happened in the game, we heard a breaking news report on the radio that President Obama had just won the election. Jermaine proceeded to tear up and proclaim to nobody in particular that his little girls no longer had a ceiling. Obama’s election was more about bringing hope to a nation than anything else. Now, over a year later, we can look back and form our opinions about the man as our president (for the record I in no way mean for this post to come off as pro or anti Obama), but on that night the man broke long-standing barriers and brought hope to many.  This event inspired the following illustration simply titled ‘hope’.

Barack Obama

This version of the President alone  is available as an open edition print.
